Acid exfoliating lotions are one of the most effective steps in any blemish-fighting routine, but many cannot be used daily due to the risk of irritation. 5 Azelaic-S, developed by Gema Herrerías in collaboration with science communicator Cristina Mitre, was formulated precisely to fill that gap: a lotion that can be used morning and evening, alcohol-free, allergen-free and at skin pH, thanks to the combination of Azeloglycine® — which works at any pH — and encapsulated salicylic acid, which releases progressively for effective exfoliation with minimal irritation.

Key Active Ingredients

3% Azeloglycine® (Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate): next-generation multifunctional ingredient obtained by condensation of azelaic acid and glycine. Depigmenting through tyrosinase inhibition, sebum-regulating and antimicrobial. Improves hydration, elasticity and luminosity. Active at any pH, allowing for an alcohol-free formula.
2% Encapsulated Salicylic Acid: lipophilic beta-hydroxy acid that penetrates pores more effectively than AHAs due to its affinity with sebum. Encapsulation ensures progressive release, improving tolerance without sacrificing exfoliating, sebum-regulating and keratolytic efficacy.
Cotton Extract (Gossypium Herbaceum Seed Extract): skin hydrating and conditioning agent with anti-inflammatory effect. Enhances skin elasticity.
Damascus Rose Water (Rosa Damascena Flower Water): antioxidant and anti-ageing. Provides a refreshing, softening action and a natural floral fragrance.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E): antioxidant that protects against oxidative damage and stabilises the formula.

How to Apply

Soak a cotton pad and glide over clean, dry skin before your regular treatment.
No rinsing required. Can be used morning and evening. For resistant oily skin, apply twice daily.
Do not apply to the eye contour or lips.
Apply sunscreen in the morning. Not suitable for those with salicylate allergy.
